We all teach our dogs different tricks, from the most important ones (sit, stay, wait), to the funniest ones. And our pups love to listen to us. Anything to make the human happy, right? And Lisa totally loves to make her pack members smile.
Keeping this in mind, I’ve decided to take a challenge, and see if I succeed. With a bit of practice, the results are fantastic!
I present to you what I believe is the hardest trick for a dog.
I take the treat, ask her to sit nicely, then place the cookie on her head, and give her the command to wait. After a few seconds, I tell her to go for it, and before you can blink or ask yourself ‘where did it go?’, the treat is gone. I tell you for sure, the word ‘go’ is the most desired command of the day, especially when you have a yummy cookie placed gently between your eyes!
She learned the trick in only one week, so I think it’s not bad at all. Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? 🙂
We used to do this with our dog when kids, and said “trust” to wait for the biscuit. It’s fun for both parties to learn new tricks 🙂

It must be very difficult indeed, it is so tempting for them !
I don’t have a dog myself, but my colleague has two dogs and she has tried to make them do incredible things. The most recent one is : she aims at them with her finger and says “bang”, then the dogs pretend to be dead and lie on their sides for 3 seconds before fetching the treat. Her dogs are 1 year and 6 years old (she saved the old one from an adoption centre), but with the older one, it takes more time. It’s possible to make him do it, but you have to be more patient. I don’t know if it’s related to the breed or the age of the dog though 🙂

I think it doesn’t have much to do with the breed or age, but has a lot to do with the owner. See, dogs think different than we do. They need a pack leader, and they always follow the leader’s instructions. If your dog recognizes you as that, he will respect you and do its best to please you. They love to make us happy, and this is why teaching them all sort of things works 🙂 I always wanted a dog, since I had my first one, and I made the best decision with adopting Lisa. I can’t imagine my life without her. Thank you for your comment and have a lovely Sunday! ❤
